Rest in peace, Albert

I wasn’t supposed to be writing about this. But I think writing about it is part of my healing and acceptance. As of this moment, I’m finding it hard to believe that a person so jolly, so positive, so cheerful, so kind and so caring can be taken away so soon. And the saddest part about it is that that person happens to be one of my friends from college. This is the first time I’m mourning over a death of someone close to me.

As many of our college friends will remember, we were a “love team.” Maybe that is also the reason why we haven’t gotten that really really close, as much as I would like to. There were moments when we will have this “ilang” air around us. But I’m glad we overcame that in our senior year and became real friends. I remember telling one of my close friends back then (before the heat of the tuksuhan) that I would really love to be close to this person because I can see that he really can be one of your best friends. And that proves to be true, hearing what his friends and family say about him last night. He really is a treasure.

After graduation, we remained in contact thru texts and the occasional O-1derful gatherings, sharing “kamustahans” and never failing to greet each other on birthdays and special occasions. Then after 4 years, we learned the bad news. He was diagnosed of having thymoma and teratoma tumor cells. But that didn’t stop him from being his cheerful self. When we visited him last March in Medical City, he was still that same Albert that we know, joking around and smiling a lot, even though we knew that he was feeling discomfort and maybe pain that time. From then on, I never stopped praying for his health, supporting him in any way I can. For him to improve so that we can all have our friend back, attending get togethers and outings just like the old times. To be together with the “life of the party” once again. And although I would have wanted to visit him a lot of times after that, his happy spirit seemed to be slowly betraying him. He didn’t want friends to visit, afraid that his gloomy attitude would ruin it for us. We even planned for a surprise birthday party in June to cheer him up but was cancelled last minute because we were informed that he didn’t feel like celebrating with his condition. Last December 19, his condition turned from bad to worst. He passed away, leaving friends and family, who are still finding it hard to accept that he is gone.

I don’t know when I will completely accept his fate. But now, I pray for strength and faith for those he had left behind: his family, his friends, his “the one” to understand God’s reasons for taking him away from us this early. I pray that we can all heal and move on and remember him years from now, the way he wants to be remembered by those lives he has touched.

resurrection

and so i'm blogging again by request (uhmm, who requested? hahaha)

yeah, yeah. i nearly forgot that i still have a blog. and i don't even remember how to organize my thoughts now to put up a good post. not that my posts before are coherent. hahaha.

i thought about migrating my blog to multiply. but i still have to find a way around restricting the post to some people. i don't want the whole world to know what i was thinking. also, i don't want some of my friends to know some of thoughts. i have these issues i don't want my other friends to know and just want share with a group of friends. get me? hahaha. does that mean i have to categorize my friends according to my issues? hahaha. help me out here.

don't get me wrong. i don't have major issues right now. i'm just bored. actually, to describe my current state, i'd say i'm relatively happy. uuy. but right now i'm having this fear that the situation seems to take my happiness away from me. ha! positive thoughts. happy thoughts. the secret :P

hope tomorrow (or this weekend) will be better. :)

crisis

once again, i find myself in the middle of nowhere. i woke up this morning feeling like i've gone somewhere i'm not familiar with. no voices to guide me. no signs to show me where to go next. no motivation. nothing at all. gravity is the only thing keeping me still. otherwise i'd be floating. if only i could just look for the north star and follow it.

the nearness of you

i am not in love right now but i found myself listening to this song (norah jones' version) over and over again since yesterday.
very romantic...Ü

It's not the pale moon that excites me
That thrills and delights me
Oh no
It's just the nearness of you

It isn't your sweet conversation
That brings this sensation
Oh no
It's just the nearness of you

When you're in my arms and I feel you so close to me
All my wildest dreams came true
I need no soft lights to enchant me
If you would only grant me the right to hold you ever so tight
And to feel in the night
The nearness of you
